“If you want to create, you seek inspiration.”
ARTEMITOS is a marriage of ART and MITOS (MYTH) embodied by ARTEMIS…
ARTEMITOS represents the combination of artistic practice and exploration, infused with a deep reverence for ancient cultures and the feminine divine. The core of the project draws inspiration from the layered histories of the land and the myths that echo through them. Embroidered with body and breathwork, our aim is to connect with the divine feminine energy within us and use it to inspire our creativity.
The word Anatolia derives from ancient Greek, ἀνατολή (anatolḗ, anatello) meaning East, the place where the Sun rises. In Turkish, “Anadolu” is derived from Ana=Mother and Dolu=Full. It expresses the energy, abundance, compassion, wisdom, and healing that Mother Earth offers us. Anatolian lands have been the cradle of many civilizations and many Goddess Archetypes such as Artemis, Demeter, Cybele, Inanna, Ishtar, Hecate, Athena, Aphrodite, and the Amazons. These goddesses have been vessels of female energy throughout history.
ARTEMITOS is a celebration of these archetypes and energies and honors the balance between creativity and introspection, tradition and innovation, individuality and collective wisdom.
The archetype of the goddess Artemis, especially the Ephesus Artemis, which we will visit, links the eastern nurturing goddesses and the western female divinities, emphasizes fertility and abundance. Both versions embody elements from nature accompanied by wild animals. The Ephesus Artemis (pictured here), whose temple was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, is seen uniquely as Mother Nature.
Deriving from the divine gift of abundance represented by the Ephesus Artemis, and sharing her ancestral home in mid-western Anatolia, our collaborative gathering proudly wears her dress. We aim to spark the light of creativity with myth, fuel it with the everlasting force of nature, and channel it through stories and art. Thus we can connect to our inner power, to each other, and to humanity, and shine infinitely.
What Does Artemitos mean to me?

I have been designing all my life and I must admit I'm an ART junkie! If you want to create, you seek inspiration. This is where MITOS enters the scene. In the stories of humanity, through gods & goddesses, heroes & heroines, kings & queens, monsters & demons, spirits & elements, forces of nature & cosmos I have found endless resources for creativity and imagination. ARTEMITOS is the dream of a multidimensional, interdisciplinary holistic gathering in which we will create and share perspectives and the joy that is life. I am very excited to organize, host, and moderate the Women’s Circles duriing this unique experience.

Through ARTEMITOS, I am excited to meet new friends and to experience an unforgettable and unique synergy within the womb and embrace of Anatolia, the Land of Light and Love. In our Body and Breathwork Sessions I will guide our bodies to be in sync with our breath, in tune with the goddess energies that will awaken and empower, and to activate wisdom within ourselves. Using the practice of Tai Chi Qigong, we will learn to heal and balance these inner and outer worlds.

I have always found inspiration in ancient rituals, and in the special types of vessels and small statuettes used by the ancients during worship. My role in ARTEMITOS in Myth Sessions & Art Workshops will be to fill in the gaps in knowledge about the ancient cultures and look for the connections between the past and the present, as we view ancient sculptures of gods and goddesses. We will see as well how feminist-minded artists of the twentieth century were inspired by images of goddesses, as consider how we might adapt aspects of these attitudes and practices in our own aesthetic or personal practices.

My creative work, which integrates architectural history, book arts, and graphic design, is a conversation with the past, interpreting stories and symbols into contemporary forms. For me, ARTEMITOS is both an offering and an invitation—a space for women to connect with their inner goddesses and with one another. It mirrors my lifelong commitment to fostering creative communities, mentoring artistic voices, and exploring the intersection of art and identity. Through the Art Workshops, I aim to share that art is not only a medium of self-expression but also a bridge connecting us to our collective humanity—across generations, cultures, and time.
